West Bengal NEET UG 2026 Revised Eligible List Out — Choice Filling Starts 4 PM Today

Major West Bengal MBBS/BDS Round 1 update: WBMCC has now published the Revised Provisional List of Candidates Eligible for Choice Filling in Round 1.

Candidates should check the revised list before starting their Round 1 preference entry.

Revised Eligible Candidate List Published

The new official WBMCC document is titled:

“Revised Provisional List of Candidates Eligible for Choice Filling in Round-1”

and is marked:

As on: 25-08-2026

The PDF contains 178 pages and runs up to Serial No. 10,085.

This list has been published after completion of the revised Round 1 registration and physical document-verification process.

Who Is Included?

The official list contains candidates eligible under different counselling routes, including:

• State Quota
• Private Management Only

It also displays each candidate's:

• All India Rank
• Name
• Category
• PwD Status
• Candidate Type

Candidates must therefore verify not only whether their name is present, but also whether their displayed category and candidate type are correct.

What Should You Check Before 4 PM?

Search the PDF using your:

• Name, or
• NEET All India Rank

Then verify:

1. Your name is present.
2. Your AIR is correct.
3. Your category is correct.
4. Your PwD status is correct, where applicable.
5. Your candidate type is correct.
6. You are eligible for the quota/seat pool you intend to select during choice filling.

⚠️ If your name is not in the revised eligible list, do not assume you can participate in Round 1 choice filling merely because you originally registered.

State Quota vs Private Management

The revised list contains candidates marked differently according to their eligible counselling route.

For example:

State Quota

and

Private Management Only

appear as distinct candidate types.

This is extremely important during choice filling.

A candidate eligible only for Private Management seats should not prepare a preference strategy assuming ordinary State Quota Government seats are also available to them.

Candidates should avoid waiting until the final hours to create their preference list.

Round 1 Seat Matrix

WBMCC currently provides its Round 1 MBBS/BDS seat matrix on the official counselling page.

The matrix separately identifies:

• Institute
• Course
• State Quota
• Private Management Quota
• UR
• EWS
• OBC
• SC
• ST
• PwD seats
• total seats

Private colleges can contain both:

State Quota seats

and

Private Management Quota seats

so candidates should check the exact quota rather than treating all seats in a private college as one category.

How to Prepare Your Choice List

Before option entry opens, divide colleges into genuine preference groups.

Government MBBS

Place preferred Government Medical Colleges according to your real order of preference.

Do not move a college lower simply because its expected cutoff looks difficult.

Private Medical — State Quota

If eligible, compare:

• tuition fee
• clinical exposure
• hospital patient load
• location
• hostel
• bond/service conditions
• previous closing ranks

before deciding the order.

Private Management

Management seats should remain separate in your planning because their:

• eligibility
• fees
• competition
• closing ranks

can differ substantially from State Quota seats.

BDS

Add BDS only if you are genuinely willing to join the course.

Do not place a BDS college above an MBBS college you would actually prefer.

Correct Choice-Filling Principle

Your preference order should answer:

“If every one of these seats were available to me, which would I choose first?”

For example:

1. Most preferred acceptable college
2. Second preference
3. Third preference
4. Safer acceptable options
5. Backup choices

The allotment system will automatically consider rank, category, eligibility and seat availability.

You do not need to place a lower-cutoff college above a better college just because you think it is more likely.

Do Not Keep an Unnecessarily Short List

Round 1 seat movement may differ from previous years because of:

• candidate preference changes
• MCC allotments
• increased/decreased seats
• private-college fee considerations
• non-participation
• category-wise competition

Candidates should therefore include every college/seat type they would genuinely be willing to join.

Important for PwD Candidates

The revised eligible list contains a separate PwD Status field.

PwD candidates should verify this carefully before choice filling.

PwD is a horizontal reservation and should not be compared directly with ordinary category closing ranks.

Important for NRI Candidates

NRI counselling should continue to be followed separately where WBMCC provides different eligibility, verification or seat instructions.

Do not assume that a general State Quota/Private Management entry automatically confirms NRI eligibility.

What Happens After Choice Filling?

Under the current revised Round 1 schedule:

Choice Filling / Locking ends: 27 August 2026 at 4:00 PM

Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: 31 August 2026 after 4:00 PM

Candidates should follow the subsequent official WBMCC reporting/admission schedule after allotment.

What Students Should Do Now

1. Download the revised eligible candidate list.
2. Search your name/AIR.
3. Confirm candidate type and category.
4. Check the official Round 1 seat matrix.
5. Compare Government and Private options.
6. Check private-college fees before adding expensive choices.
7. Prepare your preference order before 4 PM.
8. Enter choices after the portal opens.
9. Recheck your full preference order.
10. Complete choice locking before 27 August at 4 PM.

🚨 Do not wait until the final hour on 27 August to complete your preferences.
