Critical Rule โ€” Do Not Skip First Phase

KNRUHS clearly states that candidates in the final merit list who do not exercise web options in the First Phase will not be eligible to exercise web options in subsequent phases.

This is one of the most important rules in the current notification.

So even if your preferred college looks difficult in Round 1, eligible candidates should not casually skip the web-option process.

No Limit on Number of Choices

KNRUHS allows eligible candidates to exercise:

any number of college options

according to their eligibility.

There is no fixed maximum number of choices.

HGE Advice

Use genuine preference order.

Do not restrict yourself only to colleges that appear โ€œsafeโ€.

A stronger structure is:

  1. Dream colleges
  2. Realistic colleges
  3. Safer acceptable colleges

Do not add a college you are absolutely unwilling to join.

Non-Joining Has Serious Consequences

KNRUHS states that if:

  • you exercise a web option,
  • receive an MBBS seat according to that option,
  • and then do not join,

you will not be eligible to exercise web options in subsequent counselling phases under the notified seat-blocking rule.

Therefore:

Never place a college in your preference list unless you are genuinely prepared to join it if allotted.

Competent Authority Quota โ€” What It Covers

This First Phase notification covers MBBS CQ seats in:

  • Government Medical Colleges
  • Private Un-aided Non-Minority Medical Colleges
  • Private Minority Medical Colleges

The exact seat matrix has been placed on the KNRUHS website for counselling.

This pool must remain separate from:

  • Management Quota Category B
  • NRI / Category C
  • any separately notified institutional route

for HGE seat-matrix and cutoff analysis.

Minority Medical College Rule

KNRUHS specifically states that Competent Authority Quota seats in Minority Medical Colleges are allotted to Muslim Minority candidates only.

Muslim Minority candidates are also eligible for CQ seats in other eligible Medical Colleges.

Therefore:

Minority CQ โ‰  normal open private CQ

and it must remain separately mapped in HGE.

University Fee After Allotment

Candidates allotted an MBBS seat must pay:

โ‚น12,000 University Fee

through the online payment gateway before downloading the allotment order.

Payment can be made using:

  • Debit Card
  • Credit Card
  • Internet Banking

KNRUHS also states that the University Fee once paid is non-refundable.

Tuition Fee

Government Medical Colleges

Tuition fee must be paid as notified by the respective Government Medical College.

Private Medical Colleges

Tuition fee is governed by:

G.O.Ms.No. 98, HM&FW(C1), dated 7 August 2026

Candidates should compare exact fee before selecting private-college preferences.

After Seat Allotment

Selected candidates must:

  1. Check their allotment online.
  2. Pay the โ‚น12,000 University Fee.
  3. Download the allotment order.
  4. Report to the allotted college by the date/time printed in the allotment order.
  5. Submit original certificates.
  6. Execute applicable bonds.
  7. Pay tuition/college fee.
  8. Complete final verification.

Failure to complete admission within the allotted joining deadline will result in automatic cancellation and can affect eligibility for subsequent phases.

Original Certificate Verification

KNRUHS states that final verification of original certificates will happen at the allotted Medical College.

If discrepancies are found, the provisional allotment may be cancelled.

Candidates should therefore re-check:

  • domicile/local eligibility
  • caste/category certificate
  • EWS
  • PwD
  • CAP
  • PMC
  • SCCL
  • minority eligibility

before finalising options.

Telangana Choice Filling Strategy

Government MBBS

Place Government colleges in genuine order of:

  • academic preference
  • location
  • hospital exposure
  • hostel
  • bond/service obligations
  • personal preference.

Private CQ / Category A

Do not compare private CQ only by rank.

Also compare:

  • approved tuition fee
  • hospital exposure
  • location
  • college history
  • bond conditions
  • expected Round 1 cutoff.

Minority Colleges

Only eligible Muslim Minority candidates should treat Minority CQ seats as an applicable route.

Important Data Mapping for HGE

For Telangana MBBS 2026 maintain:

  • Course: MBBS
  • Counselling: KNRUHS
  • Quota: Competent Authority / Category A
  • College
  • Ownership
  • Vertical Category
  • EWS
  • PwD
  • PMC
  • CAP
  • SCCL
  • Minority status
  • Round / Phase
  • Telangana merit rank
  • NEET AIR where separately available

Do not combine:

CQ + Management B + NRI C

into one cutoff or seat matrix.

BDS Status

This web-options notification is specifically titled for:

MBBS Admissions under Competent Authority Quota

Therefore HGE should not mark Telangana BDS Choice Filling as open based on this notification.

Keep the BDS counselling dashboard at its last separately verified stage until a BDS web-options notification is officially published.

Management / NRI Status

The Management Quota prospectus covers:

  • Category B
  • Category C / NRI

but this First Phase CQ notice does not activate Management/NRI web options.

Keep Management/NRI as a separate Telangana counselling section.

What Students Should Do Now

  1. Open the final merit list and confirm eligibility.
  2. Open the official web-options portal.
  3. Review the current MBBS seat matrix.
  4. Separate Government, private CQ and Minority choices.
  5. Check tuition fees.
  6. Build your preference list offline first.
  7. Enter choices in genuine order.
  8. Add enough realistic and safe acceptable colleges.
  9. Save/print submitted options.
  10. Complete everything before 1 September, 12 Noon.

Hire Guide Education Advice

The most important warning in this notice is not just the deadline.

Skipping First Phase web options can make you ineligible to exercise web options in subsequent phases.

Also, do not place colleges casually: if a seat is allotted from your choices and you fail to join, KNRUHS says you may lose subsequent-phase web-option eligibility.

Choose broadly โ€” but choose only colleges you are genuinely willing to join.
