This means Karnataka should no longer appear as:

The final Round 1 allotment is now official.

What Allotted Candidates Must Do Now

Candidates receiving a seat must log in to the KEA portal and select the appropriate post-allotment choice.

KEA provides four choices for UGNEET Round 1 candidates.

Choice 1 โ€” Accept Seat

Choose this when you want to accept the allotted MBBS/BDS seat.

You must then:

  • pay the prescribed fee,
  • download the Seat Confirmation Slip,
  • report to the allotted college,
  • complete admission within the notified deadline.

Choice 2 โ€” Accept + Seek Upgradation

Use this when:

  • you are willing to retain the presently allotted seat,
  • but want consideration for higher-order preferences in the next round.

This is extremely important for candidates planning an upgrade.

Do not choose Choice 2 unless you understand how your current seat and higher preferences will operate in the next round.

Choice 3 โ€” Reject Current Seat, Continue

Use this only under the exact KEA rules applicable to your allotment.

A candidate choosing this route does not retain the presently allotted seat while seeking further counselling opportunities.

Before selecting it, carefully check the live KEA instructions.

Choice 4 โ€” Exit

This is for candidates who do not want to continue with the KEA allotment process under the applicable Round 1 rule.

Once you choose an exit option, do not assume that you can freely restore the same seat later.

Current Post-Allotment Timeline

KEA's final-result candidate-action portal opened on 28 August 2026.

The post-allotment schedule reported from KEA's 28 August notice is:

  • Choice Selection: 28 August, 4:00 PM to 2 September 2026, 11:59 PM
  • Choice-1 Fee Payment: 29 August to 3 September 2026
  • Reporting to Allotted College: by 4 September 2026, 6:00 PM

โš ๏ธ Verification note: the official KEA final-allotment notice PDF temporarily timed out during HGE's direct fetch. The final result and candidate-action link are fully confirmed on the official KEA portal, while the exact post-allotment deadline values above should be rechecked on the live candidate portal before displaying a countdown.

Final Result Data โ€” Important for HGE Cutoff Extraction

The official allotment lists contain:

  • NEET All India Rank
  • KEA College Code
  • College Name
  • Course Type
  • Allotted Category
  • Course Fee
  • Allotment Status

This is excellent source data for Karnataka Round 1 cutoff extraction.

The final BDS list, for example, explicitly shows entries such as:

  • Government Dental College, Bengaluru
  • Government Dental College, Ballari
  • ESIC Dental College, Kalaburagi
  • M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences
  • SDM Dental College
  • Bapuji Dental College
  • RV Dental College
  • and other participating institutions.

BDS Round 1 โ€” Early Final-Allotment Trend

The final BDS result shows Government Dental College Bengaluru appearing repeatedly among higher-ranked Government BDS allotments.

Examples visible directly in the official final list include:

  • AIR 26,918 โ€” Government Dental College Bengaluru โ€” BDS Government โ€” GM
  • AIR 77,075 โ€” Government Dental College Bengaluru โ€” BDS Government โ€” GM
  • AIR 88,211 โ€” Government Dental College Bengaluru โ€” BDS Government โ€” GM
  • AIR 92,379 โ€” Government Dental College Bengaluru โ€” BDS Government โ€” GM

But these rows must not be interpreted as the final college closing rank.

The true cutoff must be calculated from the last allotted candidate for each:

College + Course + Quota + Category

across the entire final file.

Karnataka Category Structure โ€” Do Not Over-Normalize

KEA uses highly granular category codes.

Examples include:

  • GM
  • 1G
  • 2AG
  • 2BG
  • 3AG
  • 3BG
  • SCG
  • STG

with horizontal/special variants such as:

  • Rural
  • Kannada
  • Hyderabad-Karnataka / Kalyana Karnataka
  • special reservation claims

depending on the official code.

Do not convert every combined KEA code into one simple generic category.

For HGE database mapping preserve:

Original KEA Code + Global Vertical Category + Horizontal/Special Attribute

Government vs Private vs NRI โ€” Keep Completely Separate

The allotment list directly identifies course/quota types such as:

  • MBBS-GOVT
  • MBBS-PRIV
  • MBBS-NRI
  • corresponding BDS routes

These have very different:

  • eligibility,
  • fee,
  • competitive rank,
  • admission strategy.

A private/NRI closing AIR cannot be used as a Government MBBS cutoff.

Course Fee Is Embedded in the Allotment Result

One major advantage of Karnataka data is that the candidate-wise final result directly includes the applicable course fee.

For example, the BDS final result shows different fee levels for:

  • Government dental institutions
  • Government quota seats in private dental colleges
  • Private quota seats

This allows HGE to validate:

College + Quota + Fee + Cutoff

together rather than maintaining them as disconnected datasets.

MBBS Cutoff Analysis โ€” Data Extraction Status

The official KEA portal confirms that the MBBS First Round Final Seat Allotment List was published on 28 August 2026.

However, the very large official Medical PDF repeatedly timed out during this verification run.

Therefore HGE should not publish guessed college-wise final MBBS closing AIR values yet.

A dedicated extraction should calculate:

  • Government MBBS college-wise closing AIR
  • GM / SC / ST / Category 1 / 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B closing AIR
  • Private quota closing AIR
  • Minority quota closing AIR
  • NRI closing AIR
  • St. John's special-category cutoffs
  • Kalyana Karnataka / Rural / Kannada horizontal combinations

directly from the final result.

Important Data Rule

Cutoff must be calculated from the:

Allotted Category

not merely the candidate's personal reservation identity.

Correct HGE cutoff key:

College + Course + Round + Quota + Allotted Category + Horizontal/Special Claim

This will prevent category mismatches in the predictor.

Round 2 Upgrade Strategy

Candidates considering Choice 2 should compare their Round 1 seat against only their higher preferences.

Potential Round 2 movement can arise from:

  • candidates taking MCC seats,
  • candidates shifting to another State,
  • Choice-4 exits,
  • non-payment,
  • non-reporting,
  • document/eligibility rejection,
  • upgrades within Karnataka.

Government MBBS

Top Government colleges are likely to show comparatively limited movement.

Government Quota in Private Colleges

There can be more movement due to:

  • location,
  • fee variation,
  • Government college upgrades.

Private / Minority

Movement can be larger because fee and institutional preference play a stronger role.

NRI

NRI seats require completely separate analysis because eligibility, documentation and fee are different.
