DNB Final Mop-Up Round Announced

🚨 Final Chance Alert: NBEMS has officially announced the Final Mop-Up Round for Post Diploma DNB 2026 counselling.

Final Mop-Up Schedule

Who Can Participate?

The Final Mop-Up Round is not open for fresh registration.

Only candidates who:

• Are already registered for Post Diploma DNB 2026 counselling, and
• Have not been allotted any seat in Round 1 and/or Round 2

can participate, subject to the official counselling handbook and eligibility rules.

No Fresh Registration

⚠️ Candidates who did not register for the counselling earlier should not assume they can newly register in the Mop-Up Round.

The current notice provides choice filling for eligible already-registered candidates.

New Vacancy Seat Matrix Coming

NBEMS has confirmed that the Final Mop-Up Round seat matrix will be released before the round begins.

Candidates should wait for the latest vacancy matrix before finalising their preferences.

The upcoming matrix may include:

• Seats remaining vacant after Round 2
• Eligible resigned seats
• Other vacancies recognised by NBEMS for this round

Important 20 August Vacancy Deadline

Hospitals have been instructed to update eligible candidate resignations on the NBEMS counselling portal on or before 20 August 2026.

📌 A resigned seat may enter the Final Mop-Up matrix only when the concerned hospital updates the resignation within the prescribed timeline.

If the hospital fails to update it, that seat will not be included in the Mop-Up Round.

What Candidates Should Do Now

1. Confirm your Final Mop-Up eligibility.
2. Check your DNB-PDCET counselling login.
3. Prepare your preferred specialty and hospital list.
4. Compare stipend and bond conditions.
5. Check clinical workload and patient exposure.
6. Wait for the official Mop-Up seat matrix.
7. Re-rank choices after the final vacancy list is released.
8. Fill choices between 21 and 24 August.
9. Finish choice filling before 5:00 PM on 24 August.
10. Check the allotment result on 27 August.

If You Get a Seat

The result will be declared on 27 August 2026.

Candidates allotted a seat must physically join the allotted hospital between:

27 August and 1 September 2026

The notice does not specify a separate closing clock time for 1 September.

Important Forfeiture Rule

🚨 If an allotted candidate fails to join by 1 September 2026, the Post Diploma DNB seat will be lost and the first-year course fee will be forfeited.

Therefore, candidates should fill only those hospital/specialty choices they are genuinely prepared to join.

• Bond/course-leaving penalty
• Bed strength
• Patient load
• Faculty
• Hands-on exposure
• Location
• Hostel/accommodation

• Official NBEMS Mandatory Disclosures

Important Warning

⚠️ Do not fill a hospital merely because a seat appears vacant.

In a final round, allotment may be binding and failure to join can cause financial loss.

Research every option before putting it in your preference list.
