Punjab NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Choice Filling Extended Till 23 August 5 PM
BFUHS has officially extended Punjab MBBS/BDS Round 1 Choice Filling from the earlier 19 August, 5 PM deadline to 23 August 2026, 5 PM. The remaining Round 1 counselling schedule will be issued separately, so older allotment/reporting dates should not be treated as current.
Punjab NEET UG 2026 โ Round 1 Choice Filling Extended Till 23 August
๐จ MAJOR BFUHS ROUND 1 UPDATE
>
Punjab MBBS/BDS Round 1 Choice Filling has officially been extended.
>
NEW DEADLINE: 23 August 2026 โ 5:00 PM
>
The earlier deadline of 19 August, 5 PM is no longer applicable.
What Has Changed?
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences has issued a fresh Public Notice dated 19 August 2026.
BFUHS states that the last date for submission of online choices/preferences for the First Round of Online Counselling has been extended up to:
23 August 2026 โ 5:00 PM
Earlier Deadline
19 August 2026 โ 5:00 PM
New Official Deadline
23 August 2026 โ 5:00 PM
Very Important โ Old Allotment Dates Should Now Be Removed
The new BFUHS notice specifically states:
The remaining counselling schedule will be uploaded on the University website later.
Therefore candidates should NOT continue relying on the earlier timeline showing:
- Provisional Allotment โ 22 August
- Objection deadline โ 23 August
- Revised Provisional Allotment โ 24 August
- Reporting โ 25โ28 August
These dates belonged to the earlier schedule and are now affected by the Choice Filling extension.
Hire Guide Education should show:
Round 1 Allotment Schedule โ Revised Dates Awaited
until BFUHS publishes the replacement schedule.
Choice Filling Is Still Open
The Punjab dashboard must NOT be changed to:
Choice Filling Closed
The correct current stage is:
Choice Filling โ OPEN / EXTENDED
with deadline:
23 August โ 5 PM
What Candidates Should Do With the Extra Time
Use the extension to review:
- Punjab State Merit
- Category and reservation
- Government vs Private colleges
- Sikh Minority eligibility
- Christian Minority eligibility
- NRI eligibility
- Latest official Seat Matrix
- College-wise tuition fees
- High-fee private choices
- Genuine college preference
- Backup colleges
Preference Order Rule
Your list should follow your actual preference.
Do not put a less-preferred college above a better-preferred college only because you think it has a safer cutoff.
Allotment depends on:
Merit + Eligibility + Category/Quota + Seat Availability + Submitted Preference Order
Important Fee Check Before Final Choices
Punjab candidates should recheck college fees before finalising choices.
BFUHS has also issued a fresh revised fee notice for Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Bathinda dated 19 August 2026.
The Adesh fee position is unusual because, under the cited interim High Court arrangement, the college is presently permitted to collect the Management Quota prescribed fee even from its 50% Government Quota MBBS seats, subject to the final outcome of the court proceedings.
Candidates keeping Adesh Medical College in their choice list should therefore read the separate revised fee notice carefully.
Merit List Is Not Admission Cutoff
Punjab's merit list does not represent the college closing rank.
Hire Guide Education should generate the 2026 Punjab Round 1 cutoff only after BFUHS publishes the actual Round 1 allotment result under the revised schedule.
